I had always envisioned a Palm Springs outdoor space to harmonize with our white stucco home.

The Brief
Revitalize spaces with joyful colour and function.
What We Did
As a designer, I’m consistently my most demanding client, spoiled for choices in the exciting world of design and eager to embrace them all.
After living in our home for 12 years, we initially contemplated a significant renovation. However, life’s demands, including a busy family life and an overseas move, took precedence. Surprisingly, our house functioned quite well, except for the lack of an inviting outdoor area and the dire need for a kitchen update.
Our project commenced with the outdoor space, where we extended into the garden to create an expansive seating and dining space. I had always envisioned a Palm Beach-style space to harmonize with our white stucco home. We laid beautiful white stone tiles and introduced a louvre tech system for year-round use. I elevated the outdoor seating by reupholstering the squabs in a vibrant blue, and I added a large round coffee table and a colorful Jarden Dining table.
We aimed to connect the adjacent room, drawing inspiration from the Memphis Design style and Mid Century aesthetics, we infused the space with a playful blend of colors and forms, creating a joyful and fun atmosphere.
In the kitchen, my vision was for a space that would make me smile every time I entered it, and that’s precisely what we achieved. The blush cabinetry and terrazzo countertop strike the perfect balance between serenity and maximalism.
In the dining room, I sourced Memphis Design-themed fabric to incorporate into the blinds and kitchen stools. We added a custom pedestal table and pale blue seats to complete the look.
I absolutely adore my new spaces and am delighted to have created functional areas that we love and enjoy sharing with friends and family.
